Position:  Diversion Case Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The Mother Nation Diversion Case Manager reports directly to the Executive Director. This position will provide participants with financial assistance to homeless individuals and Native women and their families actively fleeing domestic violence or staying with family and friends temporarily.

The Diversion Case Manager will refer participants to the Cultural Services Team at Mother Nation to support homeless families in need of spiritual support and cultural healing to remain in stable housing over time.

Mother Nation is a Native American grassroots non-profit organization offering cultural healing services from historical trauma, advocacy, mentorship and homeless prevention for Native American/Alaskan Native women seeking safety and shelter with their families and Single dads caring for their children. Services are centered in King County with advocacy support in Washington State. Mother Nation celebrates and inspires the success of Native American families to honor the beauty and strength of Native American culture, spirituality and values built on the ancestral strength of each participant.

Position:    Housing Cultural Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

Mother Nation is active in partnering with Sister Native Homeless Providers, Tribes and NonNative agencies to build unity in serving the Native American community both on and off-reserve.

Our common goals are to ensure healing and wellness with cultural resilience offering quality service to those desiring healing from historical and intergenerational trauma. The Homeless Prevention program partnership is with Seattle Indian Health Board and the City of Seattle. The Housing Cultural Specialist will ensure Native American families at imminent risk of homelessness have access to the resources needed including cultural and spiritual needs, to avoid entering the homeless system to remain stably housed over time.

The Housing Cultural Specialist will be a key part of the Mother Nation’s Cultural Services Team to work with Elders in custom designing cultural activities to support participant’s overall health and
wellness. By bringing back Native values of family, supporting one another during times of crisis, Mother Nation participants will have ongoing full access to the spiritual support needed to remain stably housed over time and heal from historical and intergenerational trauma.

The Mother Nation Outreach and Engagement Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director. This position will provide participants outreach and engagement to homeless individuals and families currently living unsheltered with the City of Seattle including survivors of violence.

The Outreach and Engagement Coordinator will refer participants to the Cultural Services Team at Mother Nation to support homeless families in need of spiritual support and cultural healing, wishing to seek housing and remain stably housed over time.

The Receptionist position will operate in a Native American Trauma Informed Care environment to perform administrative duties to support the employees by handling a variety of tasks to ensure all interactions between the organization, its participants are positive and emotionally supportive.
Native American women are highly encouraged to apply who possess an acceptance of cultural and traditional teachings and/or sensitivity to the Native American/Alaskan Native community in line with Mother Nations cultural integrity and principles. Position:    Mother Nation Housing Specialist – position filled March 2018

JOB SUMMARY
The Housing Specialist will refer participants to the Cultural Services Team at Mother Nation to support the families and Moms or Dads in need of cultural, spiritual and overall wellness support during their transition from homeless to housing.

Mother Nation’s Rapid Rehousing program in partnership with Building Changes purpose is to quickly exit Native American families, with specific attention to families fleeing domestic violence and sexual assault, from homelessness to permanent housing. This program is offered without
preconditions and the resources and services provided are uniquely tailored to the needs of the household. There are three components to the new programs, Housing identification, rent and move in assistance, and case management services. The program is not required to utilize all
components.

By bringing back Native values of family, supporting one another during times of transition from chronic homelessness, gender based violence, Mother Nation participants will have ongoing full access to the spiritual support needed to remain stably housed over time.

Position:     Cultural Services Coordinator – position filled 2/25/18

The Cultural Services Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director and Elder Facilitators.  Overall responsibility is to coordinate activities for the Cultural Services Team at Mother Nation to support the families and women in need of cultural support during their transition from homeless to housing.  This position will also support the Elder Facilitators in coordinating activities with Mother Nation Participants.
